Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Software Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role scales from an independent contributor to a strategic technical leader depending on your depth of experience. You will design, develop, and implement scalable, secure software applications that support our organization’s critical goals.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong hands-on development background, an analytical mindset, and a collaborative spirit. Higher-level candidates will take on system architecture design, drive technical strategy, and mentor other engineers across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software applications and system integrations.
- Code Quality: Translate business requirements into efficient, maintainable code while conducting code reviews and unit testing.
- Architecture: Contribute to or lead technical design discussions, architectural decisions, and system modernization.
- Strategy & Leadership: Drive technical direction for major initiatives and establish software engineering policies (applicable for senior/lead candidates).
- Collaboration: Partner with product owners, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to align software solutions with business goals.
- DevOps: Support and enforce DevOps practices, automation tools, and CI/CD pipeline deployments.
- Optimization: Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for maximum performance, security, and scalability.
- Mentorship: Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to grow the skills of junior and mid-level developers.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience (9+ years required for Lead Engineer consideration).
- Languages: Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Python, Java, C#).
- Core Concepts: Strong understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Data & APIs: Solid understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL), data modeling, and RESTful API design.
- Tools: Experience with version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
- Cloud & DevOps: Exposure to or expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Architecture: Deep experience with enterprise-level application architecture and microservices design.
- Methodology: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
